Within the life of your church there will be couples with healthy marriages who are willing to invest in newer relationships. A mentoring couple would commit to meeting with a couple considering marriage, for five, two hours sessions. The pre-engagment couple submits their homework for each session a week in advance, without talking to one another about their answers. This gives the mentors enough time to review their responses and prayerfully consider where they are aligned and where they diverge. This pre-engagment material covers dating history, families of origin, faith journeys, vocational and family goals, sex, communication, and finances and can enable a journey of discovery and growth that a couple may never uncover on their own. This is a resource to enable discipleship in community!
